Cinema 4D – Evaluation
I have used Cinema 4D to create 6 models for an advert for a product that I chose and make a scene for it. The product I chose to advertise was a perfume so the other models I made to make a scene for this bottle was bathroom items so I made the bottle, a bin, a sink, a mirror, a glass and a door for the room.
When I started planning for this I brainstormed what I would like to see advertised and what I think that I would be able to make on Cinema 4D with the skills I had as I have never used before this project so I wanted to make whatever I was going to make to be quite simple but still look professional when I was finished with it. After I decided to do that I had to decide where I wanted it to set it and how I wanted my advert to come across to the target audience I am trying to appeal to. I then had to write my proposal so I could write up what I am going to make, how I am going to make and whom I am making it for. The target I was trying to appeal to be 16-25+ females as I think at that age group and gender are particularly cautious about how they look and their appearance to other people.
After I had done this I had to start planning out my bathroom scene and making the models so I started off with making the perfume bottle first as I thought this would be one of the harder models to make because it had a lot to add to it. Once I had finished my bottle I had to decide what colour I wanted to make my bottle so I decided to go for a pink colour as I think this is quite a feminine colour and would appeal to more women. I then decided on the name of my bottle, which I chose to be “Lavender” as I wanted people to know what it might smell like and again this is quite a feminine name so it will appeal to more women. I then started going on making the rest of my bathroom scene and a they were the easiest colours and I coloured them in quite neutral colours as I wanted my bottle to stand out amongst the bathroom and to make he bathroom look more modern so it will appeal more to the younger audience that I am trying to reach to when doing this. I made all the models separately and then when making my bathroom scene in added them all in to one place. After making them all I animated the scene so that it would look more like an advert and moved the scene around showing what I have done all around the bathroom.
In conclusion, I think that I have done well in making my 3D models and feel like it is fit to purpose with what the brief was from the start. I also think that what I have made fits with my proposal and how I wanted it to look at the start.

This is a basic 3D model on Cinema4D by starting off by using only one cube and from that I started to then selecting segments, by using the live selection tool, to start the shape of the tap neck off. We then extruded the shape so it was raised up from the first basic shape and then began to rotate the cubes so that we could curve the the neck round to give it a basic shape and then again extruded it to make stick out longer. Once the shape of the neck was pointing at forward we rotated the neck of the tap down so where the water would come out of and then used the extrude inner tool to make a sort of hole for the hypothetical water to come out of. Once we did that we used the sub-division surface tool to make the shape more rounded off to make it look more realistic. Once that had be done we started work on the handles so at first we hid the shape of the tap so that we could see where it was going to be and then began extruding and rotating like we did on the tap neck.Once that was finished we then made the neck of the tap reappear so that we could scale it to the right size for the tap and then used the symmetry object tool so that it would be the same shape and size and in the right position as the other handle so then it looked very realistic to a tap. We then put a material for metals on to the object so it would look exactly like a tap and then added lights and shadows to make it look even more realistic. For us to then make a short clip of the tap turning 360 degrees we put the FPS in to 25 fps and then recorded it through Cinema4D and then exported it in to quicktime movie so that it was easy for us to quickly upload on to youtube.
This is images of the tap neck and the handle before and after we used the sub-division surface object tool so you can see how the it makes it look more realistic.
